At Finnlight International School Rawang, our students start their learning path in a friendly, captivating environment that develops eagerness to learn and innovation. Our core concept is based on the Finnish education system. Our preschool concept is more about natural exploration that connects students to the real world.
They learn through goal-oriented play and exploration, which develops their confidence at a young age. We introduced an extraordinary concept to the education system, which definitely cultivates motivation among the kids. The learning environment is very unique, based on the jungle concept. Children have opportunities to explore the real jungle twice a month, where a broad range of activities will be organized to connect children to the beauty of nature.

Primary
Building Foundations with Joy and Curiosity
Finnlight International School fosters the education journey of primary students by integrating a balanced curriculum and diverse extracurricular activities. We are applying the Finnish education system, which offers equal opportunities in acquiring knowledge. We believe that every child is unique and has equal rights in knowledge acquisition. Our primary education is divided into two categories: Years 1-3 and Years 4-6.
Our Years 1-3 education is mainly focused on children’s individuality, their ability to work in a group, active participation, and constructive attitude towards learning. We emphasize play-based and creative learning, which develops students’ social skills and boosts their motivation to evolve. We create a positive learning environment by valuing and treasuring our students’ everyday progress.
Years 4-6 play a vital role in our children’s education because they are the bridge stage, which gradually shifts our students from a play-based environment to a more systematic environment. Students have equal participation in academics and sports. Our assessments are more formative than summative.

Secondary
Lower & Upper Secondary
Preparing for Global Readiness and Future Success
We are applying the Finnish education concept while incorporating the Cambridge Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE frameworks. Students continue their studies in a supportive environment based on a holistic approach. Students’ examinations are assessed based on international benchmarking through Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE assessments.
During Years 7-9, students foster their academic, creativity, communication, and sporting skills. Students are prepared gradually to handle a range of subjects that will be prerequisites for IGCSE studies in Year 10 and Year 11. Through our lower secondary education program, we build strong scholastic and sporting excellence.
During Years 10-11, academics are more goal-oriented. The curriculum aligns with students’ interests and future goals. Students have the opportunity to choose their study pathways based on their future study routes. Teachers play a vital role in providing guidance and encouragement to help students excel in their studies. We develop our students’ global readiness, which enables them to adapt and overcome challenges of the real world. Our upper secondary programme prepares every student to face the real world by fostering their knowledge, confidence, personal growth, and global readiness.
